Saturday: 0.5hr. treadmill run (zone 2)

The Week That Was

Wednesday: 0.8hr. run (zone 2/zone 3, a little zone 4)
Saturday: 1.0hr. treadmill run (zone 1/zone 2)

Wednesday informed me that I was not fully recovered from consecutive weeks with relatively short events at race-level effort. Interesting how much the 5K at the end of the previous week must have taken out of me.

Sunday: 5K (really 3 mile) run - race effort, 21:57

Saturday evening I attended the release of 6 turtle hatchlings at our condo complex. They were stragglers out of a nest on our stretch of beach, so were kept safe through the day for evening release rather than being left exposed to be daytime birdfood.

Jingle Bells Walk/Run - 5K

This morning I ran the Jingle Bells Walk Run (5K), a fundraiser for the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre - my thanks to the volunteers, sponsors, and organizers.

Unofficially, I completed in 21:57 - my Garmin tells me that the course was 3.0 miles, not really 5K. Lines up well with my performance last week.

A great event, and a nice day for it too. Good to see Coach Jerry Harper at the start/finish with his trusty stopwatch!

The Week That Was

Tuesday: spinning intervals (set of 5)
Wednesday: .65hr. run (10 minutes in zone 4)
Saturday: 10 minutes running (leg turnover - a little in zone 4)
Sunday: 6.7 mile relay leg of Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon

Great day on Sunday at the marathon - my thanks to the volunteers, sponsors, and organizers. We enjoyed the day and improved our time over last year. (Not a podium performance this year.)
