Stumpy Has Moved

It seems that Stumpy has moved to the water heater closet for the condo directly beneath mine.

Stumpy lived for a few months in the water heater closet for my condo. After Hurricane Paloma he (OK, perhaps should be "she", but I'll stick with "he") moved down one level to the ground floor and one condo over.

Stumpy is a northern curly-tailed lizard. He is missing his left forefoot, but seems to get along just fine.

Same Photos, This Time on Flickr

Same photos, this time dumped onto Flickr:

There, that saved Bill from getting a Facebook account with all the attendant timewasting dangers!

Not much else to report just now. This week I went out with the local Wednesday Night Run Club for my first run since March 10th. Tomorrow I'll be heading up the course marshals for the local DHL Duathlon. Today I drove the whole course, biked the bike segment, ran the run segment, and marked hazards and the turnaround points. 12 miles of biking - that's the most I've done on a road in 10 months!

Start of Sea Voyage (March 7, 2009)

Pic taken on the deck of the ship Akademik Sergey Vavilov before our departure from Ushuaia (oo-shwhy-uh). One of the other runners on board, Bob, put together a crazy trip for himself: run the Antarctica Marathon and then three weeks later run a marathon at the North Pole. He collected some corporate sponsorships, including one from Travelocity. So that's me posing with the Travelocity Roaming Gnome that they supplied to Bob.

As the background view hints, Ushuaia does have some great scenery.

(BTW, I was unsure what to label this post - clear failure of gnomenclature.)

Chinstrap Penguins on Half Moon Island (March 11, 2009)

OK, I'm back on Grand Cayman.

I didn't write up posts or even a race report while I was away. Jenny has already put up a bunch of posts (where you can see that we had a wonderful time doing the marathon, if not a wonderful time *for* the marathon).

As a filler, here's 1min19sec of video that I took of a couple of Chinstrap Penguins on Half Moon Island on the morning of March 11th. Made it quite worth having gotten out and about!

Stuff and Nonsense

There's usually a lot of room in ships' cabins, right?

Blog-gone ('til March 20)

Blogging will be sporadic at best until March 20 due to Antarctica Marathon-related travels.
