Build Up Series #1 Complete!

"Time for Tri Tuneups"

At least my lack of diligence about my own training didn't extend to my volunteer activities. I was up early on Sunday to unload our triathlon association's equipment trailer to help get things ready for our first of three informal build up sessions, our annual prelude to the local big show.

The build ups are a great opportunity to practice full transitions; depending upon one's fitness level, the distances may not challenge one's endurance, but then one may choose to do them at higher intensity!

This year we're taking a very informal approach (no clock!), and that seemed to go over well. Our friends at A Step Ahead Physiotherapy marshaled at the tricky point where participants cross the road from the beach to transition. I appointed myself to give the course briefing and to act as starter.

We had over 35 bikes in the racks, so attendance was encouraging, and I heard only positive comments. Hope to see everyone again in two weeks - plus more joiners!
