Ha, I also started basing my wake up time on the sun after having a cat that woke me up at sunrise every day :-) I was living in the DR at the time too, so if I was going to run, it had to be at sunrise anyways...
The benefit of being a grad student is that I can stick to this schedule still :-) (although it doesn't get light until 7:30 here! brutal! so DST just means I start getting up at 6:30 instead)
Just to make this an insanely long comment, when I lived in the DR, they started trying to institute DST and pretty much everyone revolted and they had to change it back. It was a riot.

Well, if you live with a cat, your schedule often just depends on when the sun rises ... DST or not!

I actually don't have much problems sleep-wise just hate having to reset all my clocks. Thank goodness, HI doesn't do it!
We should have light from 6 a.m to 10 p.m...so there!!
well, I'm glad I'm a man, or else I'd have to deal with my biological clock too...
