Back On-Island!
Back on-island.
Lest other folks think such things never happen to me, I note that Monday I was delayed at Chicago O'Hare by unscheduled aircraft maintenance for over four hours before the airline gave up and cancelled the flight. Ended up on the 15:20h flight to Miami (versus my original 10:30h booking), overnighted in Miami (having long since missed my connection), and came in to GCM on the flight due to arrive at 13:00h - which actually arrived at 14:20h.
I will now proceed to use this as an excuse for further delaying a race report. After all, this has given me an additional day of catching up to do.
ASI photos are in.
Note to self: put reflective tape patches lower on chest.

Welcome back ...
ORD, a lovely place to spend a few extra hours.
But ... did the little Blue Canondale make it, too?
(And the note to self made me laugh out loud.)
or higher, there, sponge bob...
Glad you are back safe and sound...
What IS it with airplane maintenance lately? It's getting scary to fly...
So what stripper did you get those "glow in the dark pasties" from?
You are supposed to party AFTER the race... :-)
Great pictures--huge smile in the finish-line ones, pretty amazing!
Hmmm, yes, definite placement issue--also, definitely characteristic Bucknerian use of italics...
Always better that they find it and fix it while you all are on the ground.
That outlook always gets me through any mechanical delay. And I've been through many.
Great pics!
Hee hee..love the tape and the pics!!
Welcome home IronStud. I'll remember that when I place my stickers next year. Funny!!
Good call on the reflectors. :)
I'm too always thankful they find a problem with a plane before I fly on it. At least airlines usually cover hotel costs if you must stay overnight, unlike weather-related delays.
Great race pics. Would have assumed the tape were just nip guards.
I am sure it's nice to finally be home. I love to travel and I love to visit friends but that first night back home in your own bed - nothing better!
Love the pics! (chucklechuckle)
Ugh flight logistics. Glad you finally made it home!
You kinda look like a fembot with the reflective tape! :P
Nice pics!!
Wow, that sucks. I'm glad you got back safely, even if late.
