Declaration of Intent

Declaration of Intent: "I officially confirm my intent to purchase a digital camera prior to the scheduled departure of my next visitor on January 19th, 2007."

Acknowledgement to cajoling by my sister and TriBoomer (amongst others).

Hat Tip to Bold for the format of the declaration.

Yes, I had considered pledging to obtain before the scheduled arrival on January 10th, but didn't feel urgency was in order. I heart slack.

Comm's: indeed, you should practice your texting prowess. I think you meant "<", not ">". At least my credit card hopes so!
:-D

Wendy: MBA classmate JG is due here then. I figure I'll just buy whatever Cayman Camera has in stock, so no huge winnowing selection process.

Comm's -- Brent's truly a numbers guy!

Hmmm. That could make the score: JG 2. WB 0. But on the up side, digital camera. I'm sure CC will have a worthy selection.

For what it's worth, my little Canon has done yeoman's service. And you can buy the fancy case and take it (shallow) scuba diving. It shoots reasonable video, if one is technically adept enough to post it to one's blog ... you could shoot JG practicing his scuba prowess!

Can't wait for the digital pixels. The camera I use and post with cost less than $US 150 two years ago.

Stay tuned...

Hmmm. CC offers such incredible gear as Hasselblads and the Pentax 67II and you are going to settle for some digital wundercam.

Appealing to your numerical biases, with the Pentax 67II and film scanned at 4000 dpi, you get just shy of 100 megapixels.

Nigel: more steps involved => decreasing likelihood of me ever presenting a photo. The immediacy of a digicam is important to me, and as I barely notice the world around me the quality improvement of going the film route would probably be lost on me.
